OP story in this week’s Church of England newspaper concerns a sudden surge of Brits choosing to debaptise themselves.

In one week alone, the paper reported via itsReligious Intelligence site, that 1,500 Brits paid fordebaptism certificatesprovided by the National Secular Society.

The NSS has offered the certificate on its website for five years – and more than 100,000 people have downloaded it.  But when it introduced a new parchment copy for £3, the demand suddenly escalated.

The NSS asked the Anglican Church if they will follow the Catholic example and provide an official procedure for undoing baptism, but the Church is refusing to recognise a need for the procedure.

A letter from the Church’s legal adviser Stephen Slack to NSS president Terry Sanderson said:

The Church of England has no reason from its point of view for maintaining a formal record of those who have renounced their baptism: it is content simply to accept that those who have explicitly repudiated their baptism and take no part in the life of the Church should not be regarded as members of it in the more general sense.

The Church insists that it only collects data on attendance, the number of those who have been baptised in the Church of England in the year in question; and the number of people whose names are entered on the electoral rolls maintained by its parishes.

However, a recent investigation by The Timesrevealed that the number of Anglicans baptised in England was used by the Wakeham Commission in reform of the House of Lords.

The 26 Lords Spiritual could now have their position undermined as the number of people being debaptised grows.

Sanderson has been “astonished” by the popularity of the certificate. He said:

It could have political repercussions – if a sufficient number of people became involved. I can’t see that happening though. It mainly shows that the resurgence of religion that we’re seeing at the moment is unsettling a lot of people.

Matthew

1. While insulting the Pharisees and Sadducees, John the Baptist calls an entire generation a "generation of vipers." 3:7

21. Jesus blames his the Jews (who were then living) for "all the righteous blood" from Abel to Zecharias. 23:35
22. The servant who kept and returned his master's talent was cast into the "outer darkness" where there will be "weeping and gnashing of teeth." 25:30
23. Jesus tells us what he has planned for those that he dislikes. They will be cast into an "everlasting fire." 25:41
24. "His blood be on us, and on our children." This verse blames the Jews for the death of Jesus and has been used to justify their persecution for twenty centuries. 27:25

    Mark

25. Jesus becomes angry at those who said that he had "an unclean spirit," so he announces the unforgivable sin: "blasphemy against the Holy Ghost." 3:29
26. Any city that doesn't "receive" the followers of Jesus will be destroyed in a manner even more savage than that of Sodom and Gomorrah.6:11
27. Jesus initially refuses to cast out a devil from a Syrophoenician woman's daughter, calling the woman a "dog". After much pleading, he finally agrees to cast out the devil. 7:27
28. If you're ashamed of Jesus, he'll be ashamed of you. 8:38
29. Jesus says that those that believe and are baptized will be saved, while those who don't will be damned. 16:16

    Luke

30. Those who fail to bear "good fruit" will be "hewn down, and cast into the fire." 3:9
31. John the Baptist says that Christ will burn the damned "with fire unquenchable." 3:17
32. Jesus says that entire cities will be violently destroyed and the inhabitants "thrust down to hell" for not "receiving" his disciples. 10:10-15

35. Those who "blaspheme against the Holy Ghost" will never be forgiven. 12:10
36. God is like a slave-owner who beats his slaves "with many stripes." 12:46-47

39. In the parable of the talents, Jesus says that God takes what is not rightly his, and reaps what he didn't sow. The parable ends with the words: "bring them [those who preferred not to be ruled by him] hither, and slay them before me." 19:22-27

    John

40. People are damned or saved depending only on what they believe. 3:18, 36
41. The "wrath of God" is on all unbelievers. 3:36
42. John, with his usual anti-Semitism, says that the Jews persecuted Jesus and "sought to slay him." 5:16, 18
43. John says that Jesus "would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him." 7:1
44. No one could speak openly about Jesus "for fear of the Jews." 7:13
45. If you don't believe in Jesus, you will "die in your sins" (and then go to hell). 8:24

    If you follow Jesus' teachings, God will love you -- otherwise... well, you know. 14:21
53. Those who do not believe in Jesus will be cast into a fire to be burned. 15:6
54. Now that Jesus has come, non-believers have no excuse for not believing in him. 15:22
55. The Jews are blamed for the death of Jesus. 19:7-15

59. Peter claims that Dt.18:18-19 refers to Jesus, saying that those who refuse to follow him (all non-Christians) must be killed. 3:23
60. God will torture forever those who don't know the password to heaven. 4:12
61. Once again, Peter accuses the Jews of murdering Jesus. 5:30
62. Stephen, filled with the Holy Ghost, delivers a long, boring, anti-Semitic speech in a synagogue. 7:2-53
63. Stephen blames the Jews for persecuting the prophets and murdering Jesus. 7:51-52
64. After Saul "increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews," the "Jews took counsel to kill him." 9:22-23
65. The Jews are again blamed for the death of Jesus. 10:39

76. The first Christian book burning occurs when Paul's converts at Ephesus burn 50,000 silver pieces' worth of books. (A silver piece was worth about a day's wage.) 19:19
77. Poor Paul complains, once again, of being mistreated by "the Jews." 20:19
78. The Jews, once again, incite the people to kill poor old Paul 21:27, 31
79. The Jews form a grand conspiracy to kill Paul. They vow not to eat or drink until the job is done. (The first hunger strike?) 23:12-15
80. Claudius saves Paul from being killed by the Jews. 23:27
81. Those pesky Jews caught Paul and and tried to kill him. But he got away. Darn! 26:21

    Romans

82. The existence and nature of God are self-evident; thus, unbelievers are "without excuse." 1:20
83. Atheists have dark and foolish hearts. 1:21
84. God abandons those who don't know him to "uncleanness and vile affections." 1:24, 26, 28
85. With his usual intolerance, Paul condemns homosexuals (including lesbians). This is the only clear reference to lesbians in the Bible. 1:26-28
86. Homosexuals (those "without natural affection") and their supporters (those "that have pleasure in them") are "worthy of death." 1:31-32
87. Paul says that those who accuse him of lying deserve damnation. 3:8
88. God blinded the Jews so they wouldn't recognize Jesus as the Messiah. 11:7-10, 25
89. "As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes."
    Jews are enemies to Christians, but God loves them for their ancestors' sake. 11:28
90. Gentiles used to be unbelievers, but now the Jews are the unbelievers and God saves gentiles through Jewish unbelief. It's all a part of God's plan. 11:30
91. "He that doubteth is damned ... Whosoever is not of faith is sin." 14:23
92. Shun those who disagree with your religious views. 16:17

    1 Corinthians

93. Christians can judge everything and everybody, but no non-Christian can judge them. 2:15
94. "Put away from among yourselves that wicked person."
    Stay away from "fornicators", "idolaters", and "drunkards". Do not associate, speak to, or eat dinner with such "wicked" people. 5:9-13
95. "Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world?" 6:2
96. Paul lists ten things that will keep you out of heaven, including homosexuality and being "effeminate." 6:9-10
97. Don't be an idolater. If you become one, God will make you sit down to eat and then rise up to play. 10:7
98. Paul claims that God killed 23,000 in a plague for "committing whoredom with the daughters of Moab 10:8
99. Gentiles sacrifice to devils. If you have gentile friends, then you are friends with devils. 10:20
100. Those who don't love Jesus are to be "anathema" (damned). 16:22

101. Keep away from unbelievers. Neither marry nor be friends with them. 6:14-17
102. Christians cannot be freethinkers, since all their thoughts and imaginings must be brought into captivity in obedience to Christ. 10:5
103. Paul says he "will not spare" when he comes back to punish those who have sinned. 13:2
104. Are you a reprobate? Here's the test: if you know for sure that Jesus is in you, you're not a reprobate. Otherwise you are. 13:5

     Galatians

105. If anyone dares to disagree with Paul on religious matters, "let him be accursed." 1:8-9
106. Those who try to follow the law are cursed 3:10
107. "I would they were even cut off which trouble you." Gosh, that doesn't sound very nice. But I wonder what Paul meant by "cut off". The New Revised Standard Version translates this verse as: "I wish those who unsettle you would castrate themselves!" 5:12
108. Witches, idol worshippers, and heretics will not go to heaven. (Guess where they'll be going.) 5:20-21

     Ephesians

109. No "unclean person" or "idolater" will inherit the kingdom of God. (They'll all be going to hell.) Don't associate with them. 5:5-7
110. Those who refuse to obey will face the wrath of God. 5:6

     Philippians

111. Everyone will have to worship Jesus -- whether they want to or not. 2:10-11
112. "Beware of dogs ... beware of the concision." I'm not sure who Paul is calling "dogs" here, but it's probably the Jews -- those of "the circumcision," as opposed to Christians, who are of the "true circumcision." 3:2

     Colossians

     1 Thessalonians

113. God is planning a messy, mass murder in "the wrath to come" and only Jesus can save you from it. 1:10
114. Paul accuses "the Jews" of killing Jesus, persecuting the prophets, displeasing God, and being "contrary to all men." He concludes that the wrath of God will "come upon them to the uttermost. 2:15-16

     2 Thessalonians

115. Jesus will take "vengeance on them that know not God" by burning them forever "in flaming fire." 1:7-9
116. God will cause us to believe lies so that he can damn our souls to hell. 2:11-12
117. Shun those who disagree with your interpretation of this epistle. 3:6, 14

     1 Timothy

118. "Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme." Apparently (see 2 Tim.2:16-18 and4:14-15) their "blasphemy" was disagreeing with Paul. 1:20
119. Stay away from those who discuss important matters -- especially if they disagree with Paul. 6:5

     2 Timothy

120. "If we deny him [Jesus], he will deny us." Fair is fair! 2:12
121. Shun non-believers and other profane babblers. 2:16
122. Hymenaeus and Philetus are condemned for disagreeing with "Paul" about the timing of the resurrection. (See 1 Tim.1:20 and 2 Tim.4:14-15) 2:17-18
123. "The Lord knoweth them that are his." This verse was used by the Catholic Church during the inquisition to justify killing those suspected of heresy. (Kill them all, for `the Lord knows them that are His'." ) 2:19
124. God will "reward" Alexander for the "blasphemy" of disagreeing with "Paul". (See 1 Tim.1:20 and 2 Tim.2:16-18) 4:14

     Titus

125. Jews are unruly liars "whose mouths must be stopped." 1:10-11
126. The people of Crete are "always liars, evil beasts, slow bellies." 1:12
127. Heretics are to be rejected since they are subverted, sinners, and condemned by God. 3:10-11

131. If you're not a Christian, it's impossible to please God. 11:6
132. "By faith Noah ... condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith." 11:7
133. The Israelites kept the passover and sprinkled blood on doorposts so that God wouldn't kill their firstborn children (like he did the Egyptians in Exodus 12:29). 11:28
134. God saved Rahab because she believed. (He killed all the non-believers in Jericho.) 11:31

136. Things may get rough for Christians, but it will really be hell for nonbelievers. 4:17-18

137. The basic message of Christianity is "believe or be damned" and from this flows intolerance toward all non-Christians. But, as these verses show, Christian intolerance is often directed toward believers as well. Each group of Christians accuses the others of being "false teachers" of "damnable heresies" who will soon be damned to hell. 2:1-3

Condemning the heinous Jehadi attack in Delhi High Court when & where common people queue up for passes & the day when well-meaning citizens trying to do social service flock the court to file PILs, Dr Pravin Togadia, International Secretary General VHP said, “It is most shameful that when the highest authority of the nation, the Hon. Prime Minister is visiting Bangla Desh – a gateway of Jehadis of various terror outfits – there is a Jehadi attack on one of the 4 pillars of democracy – the Judiciary! In past many years Govts has been lenient to Jehadi outfits for vote bank politics, but the very visit of the Hon PM of Bharat should have strengthened the positive ties – if any. However, Govt bent to Bangla Desh to the level of crawling & opened volatile borders for Bangla Deshis 24 X 7! It is an open secret that Jehadis from Pakistan enter Bharat via Bangla Desh & Nepal & not just from Kashmir. Yet, such a step by the govt to appease the vote bank & offering over 600 + Acres of land in Karimgunj & Dhubri districts of Assam to Bangla Desh have not deterred Jehadis from striking Bharat’s heart Delhi!”

Demanding the reasons of defocused NIA’s interference & inaction about all Jehadi blasts in Bharat whereas its extra interest in persecuting Hindus & Hindu organizations, Dr Togadia further appealed all citizens of Bharat to be alert & inform the local police of any untowardly movements of suspicious people. He also expressed dissatisfaction about govt’s lack of political & social will to tackle Jehadi terrorism with a strong hand. He suggested that people of Bharat have been tolerating Jehadi attacks for long & are sick & tired of politicization of the serious issue of Domestic & border safety & security.

This video is about the Russian role in 1971 y. Indo-Pakistani conflict and about the Soviet-American opposition in Indian Ocean. It's a part of the Russian TV program 'Strike Force'. The translation is mine.( Done by the Guy who uploaded the Video )
In 1971, December, 3 the World has become an attestor to a new war between India and Pakistan. At afternoon the Pakistani aviation has strike the Indian cities and airstrips. The Indian PM Indira Gandhi put the country in emergency state and gave the order to nip the aggression. Hard clashes were started on the ground in the air, and at the sea.
Historic document: "Confident. December, 10, 1971. Moscow. For the DM Marshal Andrey Grechko. According to the information from our attaché in Delhi in the first day of conflict the Indian destroyer 'Rajput' has sunk a Pakistani submarine by depth charges. In December, 4 and 9, the Indian fast boats have destroyed and damaged 10 Pakistani battle ships and vessels by the P-15 missiles. In addition 12 oil storages was burned in flame. The Commander of the Military Intelligence Service Gen. Pyotr Ivashutin".
In the same day the Soviet Intelligence has reported that the British Naval group with the leadership of 'Eagle' carrier went closer to the territorial waters of India. The Soviet Government immediately sent a unit of battle ships under the leadership of counter-admiral Vladimir Kruglyakov for helping to the fraternal country.
Vladimir Kruglyakov, the former (1970-1975) Commander of the 10th Operative Battle Group (Pacific Fleet) remembers:
"I received the order from the Chief Commander 'To not allow access of the American Navy to the Indian military objects'.
- On the way of American Navy stood the Soviet cruisers, destroyers and atomic submarines equipped with anti-ship missiles.
Vladimir Kruglyakov, the former (1970-1975) Commander of the 10th Operative Battle Group (Pacific Fleet) remembers:
"We encircled them and I have targeted the 'Enterprise' by missiles. I have blocked them and didnt allow enclosing to Karachi, nor to Chittagong or Dhaka".
On the Soviet ships then were only the missiles with limited to 300 km range. Thus, to be sure the rival is under the hindsight the Russian commanders have had to take the risk of maximal enclosing to the American fleet.
Vladimir Kruglyakov, the former (1970-1975) Commander of the 10th Operative Battle Group (Pacific Fleet) remembers:
"The Chief Commander has order me: 'Lift the subs when they (the Americans) appear!' It was done to demonstrate, there are all the needed in Indian Ocean, including the nuclear submarines. I have lifted them, and they recognized it. Then, we intercepted the American communication. The commander of the Carrier Battle Group was then the counter-admiral Dimon Gordon. He sent the report to the 7th American Fleet Commander: 'Sir, we are too late. There are the Russian atomic submarines here, and a big collection of the battleships'.
The war was then two weeks long, and it has finished by Pakistani forces surrendering.

In a telegram sent on March 28, 1971, the staff at the US consulate in Dhaka complained, 'Our government has failed to denounce the suppression of democracy. Our government has failed to denounce atrocities. Our government has failed to take forceful measures to protect its citizens while at the same time bending over backwards to placate the West Pak dominated government... We, as professional public servants express our dissent with current policy and fervently hope that our true and lasting interests here can be defined and our policies redirected in order to salvage our nation's position as a moral leader of the free world.'

When US Secretary of State Will Rogers received this 'miserable' cable, he informed President Nixon that the 'Dacca consulate is in open rebellion.' This did not change Nixon's opinion: 'The people who bitch about Vietnam bitch about it because we intervened in what they say is a civil war. Now some of the same bastards...want us to intervene here -- both civil wars.'
